We have two etches available for people who are looking to etch designs onto different metals; steel, iron, copper and copper alloys, zinc and zinc alloys, and aluminium.
Edinburgh Etch: The Edinburgh Etch Kit is for anyone wanting to etch designs or writing into steel, iron, copper, brass, zinc or aluminium. It is ideal for beginners and for those with experience. The kit does not use strong and dangerous acids so it is one of the safest ways to etch metals.
Sulphate Etch: The Sulphate etch kit is an alternative to the Edinburgh etch. The major benefit is that it is safer to use making it the safest way to etch steel, iron, aluminium and zinc. It can also be used on brass and copper but it is slower than the Edinburgh etch on these.
